Ekurhuleni Mayor: Traffic officers not for sale
Updated | By Silindelo Masikane
The Ekurhuleni mayor, Mzwandile Masina, is warning motorists that traffic authorities are not for sale and will be out in full force over the festive season.

Masina launched the city's road safety campaign along the N3 highway, urging motorists to adhere to the rules of the road.
"Our message is that we must be responsible. We mustn't drink and drive. It is important that everyone return home safely after the festive season," says Masina.
Ekurhuleni has three major highways running through it, including the N3. As South African prepare to hit the roads, Masina says they must buckle up and stay sober.

"We have had an opportunity where I addressed all the different sectors of the police, where we spoke strongly against anyone taking bribes," Masina says.
He adds that being a law enforcement officer is an honour and a respected profession.
"Anyone trying to bribe our officers, note that they are not for sale," he says.
