Eldorado Park to have electricity again on Saturday - City Power
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
City Power says the repair work has been completed at the Eldorado Park substation.
Residents in parts of Eldorado Park have been without power for a week following delays in repairing a substation that caught alight on Good Friday.
Spokesperson Isaac Mangena says they will start switching on electricity from early Saturday morning.
“The successful switch-on of the transformer means that we will be able to load customers and have electricity restored to all the customers that were affected by the outage at Eldorado Park. With the transformer now live, we will keep it on to soak oil at least until midnight.
“We will then start to gradually load customers in the morning until every single one of those affected by the fire has electricity. Due to vandalism and rampant cable theft that was happening during the downtime, we anticipate that some of the individual customers may not have electricity on restoration.”
