Updated | By Mmangaliso Khumalo
Eskom says stage 1 load shedding will continue to be implemented on Monday morning.
The utility announced on Saturday that it would suspend load shedding during the day on Sunday and Tuesday.
Stage 1 load shedding is expected to last until 4pm on Monday.
“Stage 2 load shedding will be implemented from 4pm on Monday until 5am on Tuesday," said Eskom interim spokesperson Daphne Mokwena.
“Load shedding will be again suspended from 5am until 4pm on Tuesday. Then stage 2 load shedding will be implemented from 4pm on Tuesday until 4pm on Wednesday.”
Mokwena says a generating unit at Duvha Power Station was taken offline for repairs in the past 24 hours.
“The delays in returning units to service at Matla, Tutuka and Medupi power stations continue."
