Eskom ramps up loadshedding 'until further notice'
Embattled power utility Eskom has pushed loadshedding up another notch, to Stage 3 and until further notice.
This comes after Eskom initially said on Monday that loadshedding would remain on Stage 2.
However, on Wednesday night, Eskom spokesperson Daphne Mokwena said the ramping up of the system was due to the need to replenish emergency reserves and insufficient available generation capacity.
"Stage 3 loadshedding will continue to be implemented until further notice. Eskom will closely monitor the power system and communicate should any significant changes occur."
