Eskom: Things are improving
Updated | By Olivia Phalaetsile
Eskom implemented Stage 1 load shedding from 06h00 to 22h00 on Thursday, but says the situation is improving.
The power utility started rolling out blackouts on Sunday and had to move from Stage 2 load shedding to Stage 3 on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe says technicians are working hard to ensure that Stage 3 load shedding is not implemented again.
“So far things are improving and the good thing is we are no longer in that deep level of Stage 3 load shedding,” he says.
Meanwhile Public Enterprises Minister, Lynne Brown told journalists on Wednesday load shedding will continue throughout winter.
Brown also said she is looking into Eskom’s financial problems and will announce the name of the firm conducting the inquiry soon.
