Farmer arrested for shooting 11-year-old girl

A farmer from Swartruggens in the North West has been arrested for allegedly shooting and 11 year-old girl in her arm.
Police spokesperson Sabata Mokgwabone says the girl alleges that she was with her friends fetching firewood from the farm when the man shouted at them to leave.
"The girls allegedly rain into different directions and at that stage the victim realised that she was bleeding from her left arm.
"She immediately reported the incident to her mother and was rushed to hospital for medical treatment. The incidents was then reported to the police"
Mokgwabone says the 33-year-old man handed himself over to police on Thursday.
"He is expected to appear in the Swartruggens Magistrate's Court soon where he will be facing a charge of attempted murder."
