FF+ unhappy with ANC's Israel embassy decision
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
The Freedom Front Plus (FF+) has become the latest
opposition party to condemn the African National Congress’ (ANC) decision to
downgrade the South African embassy in Israel to a liason office

The decision was taken at the ANC's national conference in Nasrec last week.
The party's international relations commission approved a policy proposal that will see South Africa's ambassador in Tel Aviv recalled.
FF+ leader Pieter Groenewald says the decision could have a negative impact on the peace process.
''If the South African government does indeed carry out the decision made by the ANC, it will choose sides against Israel and that will impair the chances of finding a peaceful solution.
''Instead, the South African government must be unbiased and make an effort to find a peaceful solution.''
Cope and South African Jewish Board of Deputies have also expressed their dismay at the decision, branding it as short-sighted and not in South Africa’s best interest.
