South Africa Weather Service (SAWS) forecaster, Mbavhi Maliage, says the snowfall will bring with it, heavy rainfall over some central parts of the country.

"It's what we call an upper air trough affecting the country, bringing a lot of rainfall over the central part, but its bringing a lot of cooler air into the country.

"Especially along the high laying areas it cools it down where it is enough to form some snow in the Drakensberg area," says Maliage.

She adds winter is slowly on the approach.
