The man accused of murdering Durban businessman Nhlanhla Gasa is expected to appear in the Durban Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

Mbulelo Arthur Nhlauzana (SUBS: CORR), 25, faces charges of murder, robbery, and malicious damage to property. He was arrested in Groutville on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast
on April 13. He appeared in court briefly on April 16 and will remain in custody at the Durban North police station until his next appearance.

The case was postponed to April 23 to allow him to consult with his lawyer. Gasa's body was found floating in the Tugela River four weeks ago. Residents saw the corpse and called police. Gasa, 63, had sustained multiple wounds. He is the father of South African TV personality Noni Gasa.

Last month, police found his burnt-out Jaguar car several metres away from where his body was discovered. Officers then went to his home in Umhlanga, where they found blood stains, but no indication that valuables had been taken from the house. Police confirmed that Gasa was attacked at his house and then taken to the river.
