Gautrain to provide portable toilets to Sandton commuters
Updated | By Lulutho Mkosi
Gautrain will provide portable toilets for commuters at its Sandton station after the City of Johannesburg cut the water supply on Monday.

The city halted water supply to the station due to unpaid municipal rates owed to the city by the property’s landlord, Cedar Park Properties.

The city claims the property group owes R8 million for water, refuge, sewerage and property rates.
The water cuts impacts the station as well as the surrounding shops on the property.
Gautrain spokesperson Kesagee Nayager has described the situation as unfortunate since the station’s water account is fully paid up.
“This dispute is between the City of Johannesburg and Cedar Park,” she says.
