Gordhan was fearless activist against apartheid - Lesufi

Gauteng ANC chairperson Panyaza Lesufi has described the late Pravin Gordhan as a fearless activist against apartheid.

Gordhan died of cancer last week at the age of 75.
The ANC activist retired from politics earlier this year after serving in the public sector for more than two decades.
The ANC hosted a memorial service at the Johannesburg City Hall on Tuesday.
"Let's all accept we've lost a soldier here. We've lost somebody that loved our country, who was determined," said Lesufi.
"But most importantly, somebody that laid those particular building blocks for a democratic South Africa.
"He was brave, fearless and loving. But above all things, he was a true member of the ANC and our alliance structures.
"At no particular stage that this brave kid of our revolution turned his back against the ANC.” Lesufi said
Gordhan will be laid to rest in Durban on Thursday.
