Grim discovery near Centurion estate
Paramedics have made a grisly discovery in Olievenhoutbosch near Centurion.
The bodies of two adults and a child, believed to be 13 years old, were discovered in a veld outside an estate, ER24 says.
"It would appear that the three patients were bound, gagged and burned to death, but is subject to post mortem and law enforcement investigation," ER24 spokesperson Russell Meiring says.
He says they arrived at the scene shortly before 08:00.
"Unfortunately, all three patients had already succumbed to their injuries. Nothing could be done for them and they were declared dead on the scene."
The details surrounding this incident are still sketchy, but police are on the scene for further investigation.
Police say the victims had been burned beyond recognition.
Gauteng police spokesperson Kay Makhubele says: “The bodies were found in the backyard of an estate in Centurion. We will wait for the forensics to assist in identifying the bodies. We don’t know where the victims were from.”
He says no people have been reported missing in the vicinity where the bodies were found.
A murder case is being investigated.
