"A security guard is in a critical condition after a shooting incident at an industrial site in Edendale this morning at around 4.30am," said Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha.
"After Netcare 911 paramedics stabilised the man on scene they transported him under the care of an advanced life support paramedic to a Netcare hospital for the specialised care that he required." No further details were available.
