Guptas urged to sue Sunday papers over emails
Updated | By Suné du Toit
The Gupta family says the leaked emails published by Sunday newspapers were not authentic and have been tampered with.
That's according to their legal representative Gert van der Merwe, who met with the family following the publication which claimed to prove interference by the controversial family in the country's executive.
"Those emails were used to create a political atmosphere and, obviously, to defame my client and that is unlawful," says Van der Merwe.

Van der Merwe says the family is considering legal action against the newspapers who published the emails.
"We are considering going to the Press Ombudsman with it and even a lawsuit for damages, but that is something we will do in due course," says Van der Merwe.
