Hartbeespoort cable-way a success
Updated | By Lonwabo Miso
A cable-way at Hartbeespoort Dam has attracted more than 30,000 visitors in the first year after its revamp, the North West province said on Friday.
Premier Thandi Modise had pointed out on Thursday that the facility ---which was refurbished for R49 million -- had stimulated tourism and created about 45 jobs.
Modise was speaking at the 2nd Annual North West BRICS Expo and International Trade and Tourism Conference.
Modise said the Madikwe landing strip in North West had contributed to the high volume of tourists at the Madikwe Game Reserve.
It had also increased employment and contributed to the economy in the area, especially surrounding villages.
