Helen Suzman Foundation welcomes Ntlemeza ruling
Updated | By MorneJK
The Helen Suzman Foundation (HSF) has welcomed the Supreme Court of Appeal's ruling against former Hawks boss Berning Ntlemeza.
The Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) in Bloemfontein dismissed Ntlemeza's appeal to be allowed to go back to work pending his bid to be reinstated.
The HSF brought the initial case against Ntlemeza and the Minister of Police with Freedom Under Law.
Ntlemeza has been barred from returning to work by Police Minister Fikile Mbalula, even though Ntlemeza indicated that he would be appealing against the North Gauteng High Court’s decision which found that his appointment to be unlawful.
"We also welcome the SCA's order that Lieutenant-General Ntlemeza pay the costs of the case in his personal capacity," the Foundation says.
