A beautiful green meteor entering the earth's atmosphere in Krugersdorp has been captured on camera.
The rare moment was perfectly filmed on a dashcam on Tuesday evening.
Jan Breytenbach posted the video on YouTube.
Outreach astronomer at the South African Astronomical Observatory, Dr. Daniel Cunnama says it's a "very nice meteor actually".
Cunnama says of all the meteors he's seen, this is definitely one of the bigger ones.
"I think it's a pretty big one. It glowed for quite a while. A lot of the ones you'll see are a tiny little flash. You cannot even focus on it before it disappears."
