A cold front hit parts of the Western Cape and the Eastern Cape last week.

The cold front has since made its way across various provinces.

Spokesperson for Joburg’s emergency services Robert Mulaudzi says they are prepared for the worst.

“We can confirm that we are on high alert from tonight and most of this week monitoring most of our most vulnerable communities.

“We’ve got out disaster management monitoring all seven regions of our city so that we can make sure we can be able to respond to all emergencies in that area.”
