KNP's Punda Maria gate closed due to ongoing protests

SANParks' Ike Phatla says the park's management closed the gate temporarily "as a precautionary measure."
The Kruger National Park (KNP)'s Punda Maria gate has been closed to visitors due to ongoing protest action outside the park.
The area has seen protracted community protest action, with the same gate also being closed in November when residents blocked roads.

SANParks' Ike Phatla says the park's management closed the gate temporarily "as a precautionary measure."
"We advise visitors to use Phalaborwa, Pafuri, or any other gate to access the park until further notice," said Phaatla.

Punda Maria Gate is still inaccessible due to on-going community protests in Saselemani.
