Krejcir trial continues, after 2 day delay

After a two-day delay, the trial of Czech fugitive Radovan Krejcir and five others resumed in the High Court in Johannesburg, sitting in Palm Ridge, on Wednesday.

Proceedings were put on hold for two days when Annelene van den Heever, for Krejcir, fell ill.
She was back in court on Wednesday and continued her cross-examination of the third State witness, Paul Mthabela.
Dressed in a black suit, white shirt, and a black tie, Mthabela testified through an interpreter.
He has told the court he was recruited by Desai Luphondo in June last year to help trace a man named Doctor who apparently disappeared with 25kg of tik (methamphetamine), allegedly belonging to Krejcir.
Doctor worked for a cargo company at the OR Tambo International Airport and was tasked with transporting the drugs to Australia.
Krejcir, Luphondo, warrant officers Samuel Maropeng and George Nthoroane, Jan Lefu Mofokeng, and Siboniso Miya face charges of kidnapping, attempted murder, and dealing in drugs.
They allegedly kidnapped Doctor's brother Bheki Lukhele in an attempt to make him reveal his brother's whereabouts.
Lukhele has testified that he was forcibly taken from his Katlehong home, bound, blindfolded, kicked, punched, and had boiling water poured over his head.
All the accused have pleaded not guilty.
