Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
Limpopo police have arrested seven traffic officials in Thohoyandou on charges of corruption.
Police spokesperson Matimba Maluleke says three of the officials were stationed in Makhado, while the remaining four suspects worked at the Dzanani provincial traffic station.
"The suspects have since appeared at Dzanani Magistrate's Court today and were granted R10 000 bail each. They are expected to appear again in January.”

Maluleke says the arrests followed complaints by residents about corrupt traffic officials.
"We were actually responding to community outcry regarding the alleged corruption by traffic police on our roads.
"We have already secured convictions and sentences so we believe that even on the current arrests we're still going to acquire maximum sentences.”
The suspects will be back in court on January 22.
