Load shedding prognosis for the week still unclear
Updated | By Lulutho Mkosi
Eskom has confirmed there will be no load shedding on Sunday but says it remains unclear whether the rolling blackouts will return over the course of next week.
Spokesperson Dikatso Mothae says although the utility has managed to recover emergency reserves, the electricity supply system remains constrained.
“We’ve managed to recover some of our emergency reserves since Thursday evening’s load shedding overnight until the Friday morning. So we are in a much better situation then we were when we had to implement load shedding.”
She adds that it is still too early predict what will happen on Monday, although the situation is looking a lot better.
“We will be in a much better position to give a prognosis for the rest of the week later on (Sunday) afternoon.”
