Load shedding remains in effect on Saturday

The rolling blackouts couldn’t have come at a worse time with large parts of the country buckling under a heatwave.
Stage 1 load shedding will remain in effect on Saturday between 9am and 11pm as Eskom continues to grapple with electricity supply and demand.
The rolling blackouts made a surprise return this week and according to Eskom, it is not yet known if they will affect Sunday,.

On Thursday, the power utility had said it would implement Stage 1 on Friday and not over the weekend. However, on Friday morning announced that it would implement Stage 2 due to the loss of three generating units.
