Loadshedding is back

Eskom has confirmed that it has re-instated the dreaded loadshedding system.


Spokesperson for the embattled power utility, Khulu Phasiwa, confirmed just before 12 pm on Thursday morning that Phase 1 would be implemented from noon.

He said at that stage, the plan was for loadshedding to be rolled out across the country until 10 pm on Thursday night.

On Monday night, Eskom also announced an initial plan to implement loadshedding due to faults with the Cahora Basa connection.

However, that was then cancelled.
