Loadshedding makes a comeback
Eskom has announced that the power utility will implement stage 2 loadshedding on Saturday and Sunday.
The embattled SOE says power cuts will be rolled out from 6 am until 11 pm on Saturday and this bout of loadshedding will be repeated on Sunday.
Eskom's spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha says they need replenish the depleted emergency generation reserves for the coming week.
"As Eskom ramps up its planned maintenance during the lower demand summer period, as previously committed."
He added that the power utility experienced several breakdowns at its power stations in the last few days.
Eskom also had to take two generation units at the Kendal Power Station off the power grid to comply with environmental legislation.
