Maharaj: My cancer isn’t a death sentence
Updated | By sibahle motha
Maharaj was full of jokes and determination in the Durban hospital to which he was admitted last Wednesday.
The tumour had been found in the early stages just after he completed a marathon career in politics and retired as President Jacob Zuma’s “spin doctor”.
Maharaj asked that his and his family’s privacy be respected until all medical procedures have been completed.
“It’s going good with me. Cancer is not a death sentence,” was all he would say.
Maharaj also survived a serious car accident in November last year.
He said he still has much work to do – books to write and reflecting to do.
