Maintenance work sees taps run dry in south of Tshwane, Centurion

The City of Tshwane says there is an urgent need to replace and upgrade a bulk water meter that supplies The Reeds Reservoir in Tshwane.

The planned maintenance work is scheduled for the whole of Tuesday.


The city’s spokesperson Lindela Mashigo says there may be a water interruptions during the maintenance work. 


“The affected reservoir will be filled to maximum capacity prior to shut down, however, supply of water may be interrupted during this period. Residents are therefore urged to use water sparingly.”


The areas that may be affected include The Reeds (all extensions), Brakfontein 399-JR, Brakfontein 419-JR, Olievenhoutbosch 389-JR and Rua Vista (all extensions).


Scheduled maintenance and upgrades in the Hennospark water supply network are estimated to start at 8am until the end of the afternoon.


Affected areas include: Hennopspark Ext 1, 2, 4, 5, 19, 25, 27, 29, 31, 33, 36, 39, 41, 58, 65, 66, 67, 68 and 76, Clubview Ext 78 Affected businesses, Clubview Centre, Galway Centre, Hennopsview Centre, Hoërskool Zwartkop, Laerskool Hennopspark, Lewende Woord Centurion, Lodge Ronda, Simarlo Rainbow Park and The Gables.
