Malaria warning for travelling South Africans
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
Emergency healthcare officials in the province are advising those going out of the country this long weekend to take preventative measures and pay attention to symptoms of malaria.

According to a recent report by the Health Department, malaria-related infections in the country increased to more than 20 000 between August 2015 and January this year.
Netcare 911's Chris Botha says malaria is usually detected at a late stage, and may be confused with flu.
Last week, the World Health Organisation announced it would be testing a new malaria.
