Malema demands reopening of stadiums, entertainment venues

EFF leader Julius Malema wants President Cyril Ramaphosa to reopen stadiums and allow the entertainment industry to get back to business.
Malema was addressing the party’s Siyabonga Rally in Durban on Saturday.
Referring to the ANC’s birthday celebrations in Polokwane, Malema said the 2000 supporters at the stadium is proof that the doors can be swung open again.
“Ramaphosa must open stadiums. We want to watch soccer at (Moses) Mabhida stadium because if political parties can be in a stadium with 2000 people, why can’t soccer teams be allowed in stadiums?
"Ramaphosa is with his supporters, Malema is with his supporters. We want our people to be entertained again. We are unemployed, we don’t have money to go to school and still we can’t entertain ourselves.
"We are asking for stadiums to open because entertainment can create a lot of jobs, a lot of people lost jobs because of this unreasonable lockdown regulations," he added.
He said the PSL must not be afraid to challenge government.
“We call on the leadership of PSL to stop being scared and challenge this government, they mustn’t seek to be liked. Why is the PSL quiet when political parties are meeting in stadiums but soccer supporters are not allowed to meet?
"That is not science, they are using that to destroy the only bread the people of South Africa have. We want the economy open for all of us, for the youth of KZN to get their jobs back."
