Malema to appear for speeding

EFF leader Julius Malema is expected to appear in the Vanderbijlpark Magistrate's Court on Thursday to face a charge of reckless or negligent driving.
Malema, leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters, was charged with reckless and negligent driving after he was arrested in December for driving at 215km/h in a 120km/h zone.
At his last court appearance on the matter on January 29, journalists were denied entry into the courtroom by security guards.
The guards claimed they were given orders not to allow any media representatives inside.
Gauteng traffic police spokesman Obed Sibasa said at the time that Malema's legal team requested time to study the case docket and advise their client on a possible plea.
In a separate matter earlier this month, Malema was provisionally sequestrated by the High Court in Pretoria.
According to court documents, Malema owed R16 million plus interest after failing to submit tax returns between 2006 and 2010.
