A 32-year-old man was arrested for killing a Durban taxi boss, police said on Wednesday.
Police spokesman Major Thulani Zwane said the suspect was expected to appear in court on Thursday for the October killing of 26-year-old Khehla Ndebele.
Ndebele was shot dead on October 3 in Msimango Road in Durban’s Lamontville township. He sustained several gunshot wounds.
He was the son of former Lamontville Taxi Association chairman Vela Ndebele, who was killed in June last year by two men outside the Lamontville Community Hall in Gwala Street.
The arrest of the 32-year-old man follows investigations by the police’s Provincial Taxi Task Team. According to Zwane, the man was arrested in Durban’s Umlazi township on Monday.
