Man dies after moving braai stand into room
A 22-year-old man who tried to warm his house in Kariega on Monday night has died.
Police spokesperson Andre Beetge says the man was having a braai with his friends at his home in Cannon Hill when he decided to move the braai stand into his room to get warm.
He says the victim's friends came looking for him on Tuesday morning and found his body on his bed.
It is suspected that he died of smoke inhalation.
Captain Beetge says an inquest docket was opened by Kariega SAPS.
The name of the victim cannot yet be released until his next of kin is informed.
