Manhunt launched for escaped prisoners
Updated | By Martine van der Walt Ehlers
Police in North-West are searching for six trial-awaiting prisoners who escaped from police custody at the Hartbeespoortdam police cells on Thursday night.

The six suspects escaped by sawing through the cells' burglar bars.
"The six were arrested for various crimes including murder, robbery and the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition", says North-West police spokesperson, Sam Tselanyane.
The suspects are considered to be dangerous.
"We are appealing to members of the community to assist with locating and or providing information that can assist in the re-arrest of the six trial-awaiting prisoners", says Tselanyane.
