Manhunt for suspects who gunned down EC magistrate

Eastern Cape police have launched a manhunt for an unknown number of suspects who shot and killed a magistrate near Mbizana on Saturday night.
The 38-year-old magistrate from eMaxesibeni (Mount Ayliff) was killed in an attack while travelling with her family on a local road.
The husband and the 13-year-old son sustained serious injuries, while a 10-year-old was unharmed.
It is understood that the family was travelling in the Nomlacu area when a car approached them and unknown suspects opened fire at the family car.
Police spokesperson Tembinkosi Kinana says a task team of investigators has been established to track and trace the culprits.
“The motive for the attack on the couple is not known at this stage. However, the police have registered a case of murder and three cases of attempted murder for investigation. No arrests have yet been made at this stage."
