Mark Zinde fit to stand trial
Updated | By Slindelo Masikane
A psychiatric evaluation report has revealed that Mark Zinde, who is accused of murdering his mother - SABC executive Hope Zinde - is fit to stand trial.

Hope Zinde was found dead in the boot of her car at the Pecanwood Estate near Hartbeespoort Dam in June. Her son was arrested soon after.
Zinde also faces a drug possession charge. The case has been postponed to 16 September for a bail application.
Dressed in a navy blue suit, Mark Zinde appeared briefly before the Brits Regional Court.
His grandmother - Hope Zinde's mother - was in court, but said she isn't ready to speak to the media.
The psychiatric evaluation report reveals that the 23 year-old does not suffer from any mental illnesses, before or at the time of the alleged murder.
It states he's capable of understanding court proceedings and, therefore, fit to stand trial.
His lawyer, Francois Joubert, indicated to the court that they would be challenging the findings of the report.
"We are only opposing Part D of the report and that would be that, at the time when this offence was committed, his mental health was in such a condition that he cannot be held responsible," he said.
