Mashaba launches ‘Action SA’, long to-do list

Former Johannesburg mayor and founder of the People’s Dialogue Herman Mashaba has launched his new political party Action SA.

Actions SA

Mashaba announced the name and the logo of the party on Saturday afternoon.

The former Johannesburg mayor explained it is action that helped him build a successful career “and this is what motivates me to take ACTION to save South Africa".

Mashaba said the party will do what other opposition parties have failed to do and unseat the ANC.

"The opposition has failed in South Africa because they lack broad appeal and they have not offered a viable prospect of unseating the ANC.

"We will change this. Where we contest next year, we will win, where we win we will govern for the benefit of all South Africans and we will use this for 2024.”

Mashaba vowed to launch an education revolution with a new curriculum “which raises a nation of employers than employees”.

He said more jobs will be created to bring back the dignity of the poor and will ensure that all gender-based violence perpetrators remain behind bars.

Also on his to-do list, a review of the country’s immigrations laws.

"We have the right and legal obligation to our citizens to determine who comes into our country and for what reason.

"I stand against xenophobia and there's no place for this or any kind of hatred in our party or in our country.

"So let me this very clear, we want the people of our country to work, vacation and invest but when people enter South Africa must two reasonable requirements they must enter legally and they must obey our laws once they are in.”
