"A number of our provinces have completed ahead of schedule. Gauteng, Limpopo, and KZN have concluded. Gauteng was scheduled to finish on the 22nd but they completed on the 18th, KwaZulu-Natal completed yesterday, and Northern Cape on the 16th," said Ogunbanjo

Other provinces that have concluded are Eastern Cape and Mpumalanga.
She said the process of capturing the results has already begun and should be completed by Monday.
The rest of the provinces have completed most of their marking but are left with a few subjects.

Mweli said this process came with regrettable losses.
"We regret those who have fallen in the cause of carrying this exercise. Both markers and officials. We have lost chief markers, internal moderators, some at national and provincial levels. These are expertise, skills, and competency that is acquired over many years, so it will take some time for the sector to replace them," he added.
It was confirmed that 312 markers tested positive and seven of them succumbed to the virus.
