The former deputy minister has been sentenced after he pleaded guilty to assaulting three women in a restaurant in Fourways.
He pleaded guilty on the three charges of assault with the intention to cause grievous bodily harm.
The three victims are each seeking R100 000 in compensation for the humiliation they suffered when he kicked, punched and slapped them in August.
Last Wednesday it emerged in the Randburg Magistrate's Court that Manana is a convicted thief.
Manana confirmed the convictions, which happened in 2004 and 2005, during sentencing proceedings on three charges of assault.
He was fined R500 on each occasion.
Manana's lawyer Michael Bill told the court that the former deputy minister admitted to stealing a can of coke. Manana claims he is unaware of the other incident.
