Memorial service for Sfiso Ncwane in Mthwalume

The memorial service for well-known gospel singer, Sfiso Ncwane gets underway today in his home town of Mthwalume on the south coast.

It's one of three memorial services for the KZN-born star who died on Monday as a result of kidney failure.
The memorial service organised by the Mzumbe Municipality will take place at the Esibanini Community Hall in Mthwalume.
Another will be in Durban at the eThekwini Community Church and tomorrow another is to be held the Grace Bible Church in Soweto.

Ncwane who passed away on Monday at the Fourways Life Hospital after a short illness won a South African Music Award for record of the year in 2013 for his hit song Kulungile Baba.
According to a statement sent out by the family Ncwane became gravely ill on Sunday at his Johannesburg home.
His funeral service is this weekend at the Moses Mabhida Stadium and he will be laid to rest at the Hereos Acre in Chesterville where Senzo Meyiwa and struggle stalwart Nat Nakasa were laid to rest.
