The Gauteng government says a newly-established task team will prepare mental health patients for relocation from various NGO's.
According to a statement from the Gauteng government, the task team and the National Health Department visited the NGOs to establish the number of mental health patients being cared for.
"The representatives of the families were also part of the task team to ensure that families are part of the relocation process," a statement said.
This comes after the Health Ombudsman, Professor Malegapuru Makgoba, confirmed the deaths of at least 94 patients who were transferred from government facilities to various NGO's.
