The soccer star’s family gave an update on the lack of progress in the investigation into his murder on Friday .

Meyiwa was gunned down at the house of his girlfriend, songstress Kelly Khumalo, in 2014.

Soon afterwards, police arrested a suspect, but he was later released.

Meyiwa's father - who had been pressuring authorities to find his sons killer - died complaining that justice had not been served.

Senzo's brother, Sifiso, says the family is disappointed with the manner in which the investigation has been handled by the NPA.

He believes that there is no problem with the police as they have held up their end of the bargain.

"Thre's no problem in the SAPS because the SAPS has done everything. The problem is with NPA. NPA is the one giving us problems.

"We are calling on the president and the Minister of Police to intervene and find out why they can't prosecute this case or else AfriForum will take over. And I have contacted them and they are willing to help."
