Mmusi Maimane: ANC cannot correct itself
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
With less than a day to go before President Jacob Zuma delivers his State of the Nation Address in Parliament, the DA says Zuma has failed to deliver.
Speaking in Cape Town, DA leader, Mmusi Maimane highlighted Zuma’s “broken promises.
“In last year’s SONA, the President made several commitments across various sectors of our country, none of which have been fulfilled,” Maimane said.
He listed all the “broken promises” that pertained to the economy, labour issues, job creation and social development issues.

“Imagine a South Africa where every sector of society, government, business, civil society, churches, NGOs and ordinary citizens all pull together in the same direction,” Maimane said.
Maimane did however concede that there have been successes in the past few years and that the country has come a long way.
“That 17 million South Africans receive a social grant to alleviate extreme poverty is an enormous achievement,” he said.
