Gigaba was back at the commission on Thursday.

He was responding to serious allegations made against him by Mngoma about his relationship with the Guptas.

Gigaba maintained his position that Mngoma is a pathological liar who has fabricated information.

Mngoma told the commission that it was her who demanded a divorce from Gigaba.

In an interview she gave to a newspaper she said Gigaba offered her a house not to expose him at the commission.

He denies this.

"She asked me about I give her the house in Blue Valley, and I clearly stated it was the legacy of our children and it was still owing a lot of money. I told her if she was to take it she would have to carry on paying the bond. I even said to her we can consider selling the house and splitting the cash or taking all the cash.”

Gigaba said they both agreed that selling the house would not be a great option for a divorce settlement.

He further stated that Mngoma and her lawyers suggested that Gigaba and his attorneys waive the prenuptial contract.

"My attorneys said to them they are out of their minds because there was no way we could agree to that, we could agree to some settlement or payment of some sort and not waiving this agreement. After that she told the City Press that I am the one who made the offer to her to waive this contract so that she does not appear before the commission," said Gigaba

He said his lawyer warned him that Mngoma was blackmailing him when she made the demand and hence, he did not entertain it.

Gigaba told the commission Mngoma always threatened to “drag him” during that period.

He claimed she showed him WhatsApp texts between herself and the commission, threatening him that her appearance was imminent.

Mngoma already denied this, she told the commission she had not engaged the legal team over WhatsApp.

Gigaba suggested the WhatsApp messages could have been fabricated to scare him.
