Mokgalapa: Police are dealing with Tshwane violence
Updated | By Lulutho Mkosi
Tshwane Mayor Steven Mokgalapa has assured the city’s residents that the ongoing violence in the CBD is being dealt with by law enforcement.
This follows an incident where taxi operators confronted a group of alleged drug dealers on Tuesday, in a bid to clean the city's streets.
Protesting taxi drivers then took to the streets on Wednesday after a driver was shot and killed by an alleged druglord amid the confrontation the previous day.

Mokgalapa says police are handling the violence and the city cannot interfere.
“As the city we are concerned about the violence that happened yesterday. As we aware it is between taxi operators, so-called drug lords and nyaope boys.
“However, the law enforcement agencies led by the SAPS are dealing with the matter because it is a law enforcement issue and it is a criminal issue.”
