Mom killed in Centurion accident

Their light delivery vehicle was one of four cars that was involved in a crash on the N14 in Monavoni, said Netcare 911 spokesperson Santi Steinmann.

 

Two cars, a light delivery vehicle and a heavy goods truck were also involved in the collision.

 

"Reports from the scene indicate that a motor vehicle rear-ended the heavy goods vehicle, which resulted in the motor vehicle crashing against the light delivery vehicle and other motor vehicle," Steinmann said in a statement.

 

"The motor vehicle and light delivery vehicle then overturned. The motor vehicle came to a standstill on its roof while the light delivery vehicle came to a standstill on its side," she said.

 

The man and his 7-year-old son sustained serious injuries. They were treated on the scene before being transported to hospital.

 

His 6-year-old daughter sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to hospital.

 

Occupants from the other vehicles were not injured, Steinmann said.

 

Traffic was severely affected on the road as the scene had not been cleared of the debris.
