Motorists urged to be cautious on wet roads

The Road Traffic Management Corporation has urged motorists to be cautious on the roads while heavy rain is expected over large parts of the Jacaranda FM broadcast area.
According to the RTMC's Simon Zwane says motorists should take it easy on the roads on Tuesday morning.
"Add some time to your travelling, do not speed, increase your following distances and expect some traffic lights that might not be working," Zwane told Jacaranda FM News.
Zwane also urged motorists to be patient and adhere to the rules of the road.
He added that they are especially concerned about poor visibility as well as wet conditions on the road.
"Plan your trip properly and make sure you get to work in one piece," Zwane said.
Meanwhile the South African Weather Service has again issued a warning of severe thunderstorms and even hail that might occur in parts of Gauteng and the North West.

Zwane also urged motorists not to operate their smartphones while stuck in traffic as this is a distraction that might lead to an accident.
KwaZulu-Natal was hit with inclement weather on Monday as snow and freezing conditions struck many of the province's interior towns while coastal cities were hit with a deluge of rainfall.
