Mount Nelson robbers flee with jewellery and cash

Guests and staff at Cape Town's upmarket Mount Nelson Hotel were robbed of their personal belongings on Wednesday.
The armed gang fled with jewellery and an undisclosed amount of cash.
According to police the 15 suspects, travelling in two vehicles, attacked a security guard at the front gate before making their way into the luxury hotel.
Police spokesperson FC van Wyk says seven of the suspects proceeded to the hotel foyer where they robbed guests of their personal belongings.
"Police investigators have immediately activated a multi-disciplinary action team and combed the crime scene area for any evidence, detectives are following up on all leads.
"No suspects were arrested and no persons were injured.”
