MUST SEE: Plane struck by lightning
Amateur video footage of a Delta Air Lines passenger plane that was struck by a lightning bolt at the Atlanta airport, has gone viral.
According to a report by CNN, commercial aircrafts are designed to withstand most lightning strikes.
The video shows various rain drenched planes parked on the airfield after flights were temporarily suspended at the world's busiest airport.
The lightning strikes the plane 18 seconds into the 36-second video.
CNN reports that Delta spokesman Morgan Durrant confirmed that lightning struck the Las Vegas-bound plane.
There were no reports of injuries among the 111 customers and six crew, Durrant said.
