Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
The National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union (Nehawu) says it welcomes the announcement by the Ministers of Higher Education, Blade Nzimande regarding the re-opening of institutions of higher learning.

Union spokesperson Khaya Xaba says all institutions must ensure lecture halls are safe for the return of students to campuses.
"And ensure that they have sufficient PPEs. They have enough sanitisers and space for social distancing recurrent," adds Xaba.
However, he says the union is calling for the application process of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (Nsfas) to be extended so that it doesn't exclude deserving students.
"Especially those who are working-class and poor background," says Xaba.
