Newly appointed North West social development MEC Ontlametse Mochwari has resigned, the provincial legislature said on Wednesday.

Spokesman Mongezi Tsenca said speaker Suzan Rebecca Dantjie confirmed receipt of his resignation on Tuesday.
Mochwari, former mayor of Kagisano-Molopo local municipality, was sworn in as MEC on Tuesday.
Tsenca said Mochware was also no longer a member of the provincial legislature (MPL).
He was unable to say why Mochware had stepped down, referring enquiries to the provincial African National Congress. The party's media official could not be reached.
North West premier Supra Mahumapelo announced the members of his executive committee on Tuesday.
